| Maximizes sales through assisting customers in the selection, purchase and
delivery of merchandise while following all company standards, policies and
procedures. Provides warm and friendly customer service, reads each customerís
need for assistance and matches customerís requirements to the benefits of the
merchandise. Completes the sale by collecting any balances due, arranging for
delivery and following up on any out-of-stock situations. Possesses complete
product knowledge and maintains all store merchandising and space planning
standards. Represents a fashion forward sales environment. Is proficient and
comfortable with computer systems. Performs cleaning, polishing, vacuuming and
straightening duties daily. Assists in furniture placement. |

Consistently meet or exceed minimum monthly sales and productivity standards.

Run open orders at least twice per week to schedule deliveries and check on
delayed merchandise.

Follow up with all aspects of the sale until the merchandise is delivered to
the customerís home and she/he is fully satisfied.

Match customer requirements to the benefits of the merchandise and point out
the unique features of the merchandise being discussed.

Routinely suggest other items that would compliment or serve as an accessory to
the primary purchase.

Learn, maintain and update product knowledge for each item in the store.

Maintains a client book and develops and cultivates a personal trade.

Acknowledges and greets every customer as soon as they enter the store.

Listen attentively and respond to customer questions fully and courteously.

Teach product care to customers.

Promptly respond to phone messages from customers.

Qualify customers.

Accurately quotes promotions and pricing and explains available financing.

Resolve customer issues promptly and successfully by investigating problems,
developing solutions and making appropriate suggestions and recommendations.
Refer the situation to store management or the customer service department,
without delay, if a solution cannot be reached.

Present the merchandise for what it is, with all of its positive and unique
characteristics, without over-selling its features.

Provide a pleasant shopping experience for each customer by making him or her
feel at home.

Project a positive and professional attitude on the sales floor.

Enter sales orders without delay.

Promptly process all other aspects of customer orders e.g., scheduling
deliveries, price adjustments, cancels and financing.

Perform store opening and closing procedures without assistance.

Report for and be ready to work at the scheduled time.

Handle inquiries, stock availability/status, returns, exchanges, credits and
gift certificates accurately, completely and in full accordance with corporate
policies.

Well versed and comfortable with the computer and other store systems.

Assist with overall store cleanliness; perform store cleaning and straightening
duties as assigned.

Assist with merchandise tagging and signage placement.

Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.

Willingly help other Sales Consultantís customers, if necessary.

Take messages for co-workers and communicate them clearly.

Take turns and recognize the order of turns.

Safety/Security

Communicate all potential health or safety issues to the store manager.

Comply with all corporate safety and security procedures.

Demonstrate a clear understanding of store closing procedures regarding
securing the building.

Know where to locate phone numbers for emergence situation.

Recognize suspicious or unusual behavior in the store and notify the person in
charge discreetly and promptly.

Handles money, deposits and opens and closes the safe according to established
procedures.

Previous retail sales experience or strong creative or service related
experience in interior design, art, food services, health care or education.
-
High school graduate or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
