An antique linen press abandoned in the Indonesian jungle may seem like an unlikely inspiration for a modern day computer cabinet. Its delicate hardware and once lustrous finish had dulled from decades of neglect, yet its bones revealed the potential for a most extraordinary piece. From this spectacular frame, we fashioned this exquisitely functional cabinet, perfect for the most sophisticated of spaces.
Product Details
- Constructed of a combination of solid Indonesian Mindi wood and veneers; Mindi is similar in grain and strength to Oak or Ash
- The finish is achieved through an extensive multi-step process that includes several layers of stain and glaze plus a final coat of lacquer for a protective sheen
- The drop down door functions fluidly with a hydraulic hinge, landing firmly and evenly on two padded and hinged desk pads
- The drawers are reinforced with dovetail construction and feature solid wood knobs
Recommended Care
As with all wood products, care should be taken with hot and wet objects. For occasional cleaning, dust with a soft, dry cloth and Guardsman’s wood polish. To take care of dirt or spills, wipe with a moist cloth and dry immediately.
