“Going green” has never felt this comfortable or looked this stunning. Our Club Velvet Sofa is fitted in the plush luxury of 100% cotton velvet fabric. Beneath this extraordinary exterior lies an incredible interior brimming with environmentally friendly materials such as sustainable timber and recycled steel. This collection appeals to your sense of style as well as your sense of social responsibility. The story began when our designers walked through the streets of Paris seeking inspiration. They were struck by a sofa that sat in the front window of an antiques store. A study in 1930’s workbench artistry, that upholstered treasure displayed contrasting elements where vintage, traditional and modern were seated together—and the concept of the Club Sofa was born. Handcrafted from solid hardwood and recycled steel by artisans in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, the Club’s elegantly sloped arms and fully tufted back combine with the classic lines of a sculptured silhouette to impart a classic, traditional look infused with a modern edge. A captivating yet conscientious choice, this timeless collection makes “going green” a thoroughly agreeable proposition while inspiring your space with an air of sophistication.
The high back features ample rows of deep hand tufting secured by fabric-covered buttons that are meticulously sewn by hand.
Our Club Velvet Sofa is stocked in Cannes Charcoal, a beautiful 100% cotton velvet.
Choose from 23 additional colors of velvet for no additional charge.
To create a look that’s all your own, you may custom order this silhouette in your choice of more than 600 designer-inspired fabrics or more than 150 premier leathers, for a slight increase in price.
Poised on beautifully hand-turned and fluted legs of solid maple.
The legs are hand-finished with a water-based stain in a rich shade of dark walnut, or you may choose from 16 other shades to coordinate with your existing wood pieces.
Handcrafted by North Carolina artisans, the Club frame is constructed from 1-1/4” solid hardwood and is corner-blocked and double-dowelled to remain strong and stable through years of use.
Strong, durable and earth-friendly, the frame is constructed entirely from wood that has been certified by the Sustainable Forest Initiative, an organization that maintains the standard in the preservation and protection of natural forests.
For lasting comfort and support, the seat cushions feature a 1.8-density eco-friendly foam core that is partly made of plant-based materials.
The hand-tufted seat is supported by a sinuous, no-sag spring system consisting of multiple rows of durable “S” shaped springs, delivering firm yet flexible comfort for years.
The seat and back are padded with a high-density foam core that is enfolded in multiple layers of Dacron for a cozy feel with lasting support.
Mortise-and-tenon assembly is the most effective method in securing two pieces of wood that connects at a “t.” The end of one piece is fashioned into a round or rectangular shape (tenon), which is designed to fit into the same size hole on the other end (mortise).
Depending on the type of fabric you select, certain cleaning codes apply. It is extremely important that you adhere to the specifications of these cleaning codes in order to get the maximum cleaning results.
Velvet can be cared for by occasionally vacuuming to ensure dirt does not stay within the fibers.
Marking or bruising of the pile after sitting is normal; most will recover in time and with natural humidity. Bruising can also be restored with minimal steaming—although some marks may never disappear. Gentle brushing in the direction of the pile will also help regain the velvet’s original state. Natural antiquing should be expected.
Remove most stains by blotting or wiping using a damp cloth and solvent-based product. Always test in an inconspicuous area first. Start from the outside of the stain and work your way into the middle. Once dry, brush in the direction of the pile using a toothbrush or similar tool—this will help regain the original look and feel of the fabric.
For a quick spot clean, use a solvent-based cleaning product.
Always avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat (e.g. by placing it in front of a radiator) as this can cause cracking and potential fading of the wood; a minimum 30 cm clearance from heat sources is advised.
For overall soiling, use a professional cleaning service.
All fabric may fade over time. Wearability of fabric is relative to care and use.
Rotate cushions periodically to distribute wear.
Do not drag piece(s) across the floor as this will cause damage or weaken joints.
Dropping furniture onto corners or feet will cause damage.
Leaning backwards on two legs of a chair may weaken joints.
Toys, buckles and heels will scratch furnishings—try to prevent these objects from coming into contact with your piece(s).
