home tours
Whether an overnight visit or long weekend stay, it’s always the perfect time to host family and friends. To help you create the feel of a five-star stay at home, we called on Los Angeles-based interior designer and home stager Francesca Grace. From sumptuous bedding and decorative accents to elegant flower arrangements, Francesca’s tips and ideas will create an inviting space filled with little luxuries to make your guests feel welcome.
FOUNDATIONAL FURNITURE
My vision for this space began with designing a whimsical, vintage-inspired bed that I absolutely adore, and I knew I needed pieces that felt just as special surrounding it. I fell in love with the unique burl wood of Arhaus’ Corey Nightstands, and placed one on either side of the bed to add the perfect touch of organic elegance. A pair of Santiago Table Lamps—my new favorite!—tied the whole area together, and a matching Corey Sideboard found a perfect home on the other side of the room.
BEAUTIFUL BEDDING
I want my guests to feel like they’re staying in a luxury hotel when they come to visit and comfy, warm bedding is essential. I love using high-quality sheets in a neutral color for my guestroom, and The Bedding Collection by Arhaus exudes quiet luxury. Artisan-woven in Italy, the refined palette of this collection pairs beautifully with textured pillows and throws, like Arhaus’ Chunky Throw and plush Faux Sherpa Bolster Pillow. Both are indulgently cozy, adding an element of warmth and visual interest that I absolutely love.
WINE GLASSES AND A CARAFE
Find out your guests’ favorite wine and leave a bottle in their room, along with a carafe and wine glasses. It looks chic and makes a great gift that they can take home—or enjoy with you! I love pairing colorful wine glasses with Arhaus’ curvaceous Smash Carafe, hand-blown from recycled glass.
FRESH FLOWERS
Nothing makes visitors feel as special as a beautiful bouquet of flowers at their bedside, and I love arranging fresh flowers for my guests using seasonal blooms. It’s a lovely, personal touch that shows that you put in the effort to make their stay memorable. With its antique-inspired aesthetic and one-of-a-kind character, Arhaus’ terracotta Ravenna Urn offers a gorgeous display for any arrangement.
MOOD-LIFTING CANDLES
When hosting guests, I try to engage the five senses, including sight and smell. I’ll place Arhaus tapers on each nightstand and leave an oversized bowl candle on the sideboard for visitors to use throughout their stay, filling the room with flickering light and rich fragrance.
MIDNIGHT SNACKS
The ultimate indulgence for their home away from home? Snacks like popcorn and chocolate to satisfy late-night cravings. I like to display these treats in a gorgeous decorative bowl. Don’t forget the napkins!
